Terms & Conditions
These Terms govern your use of AdventureMatch. By creating or continuing to use an account after being shown these Terms, you agree to them.
1. About AdventureMatch
AdventureMatch is a New Zealand-based discovery and introduction platform. We present adventure information, matching tools and links or enquiry facilities that may connect you with independent operators. AdventureMatch is not an adventure operator, travel agent, tour guide, insurer, medical adviser, safety authority or emergency service.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 to create an account. Operators may impose a higher minimum age or require parental consent for particular activities. You must provide accurate account information, safeguard access to your account and notify us if you believe it has been compromised.
3. Operators, bookings and payments
Operators are independent third parties. Any booking or service contract is between you and the operator and is governed by the operator’s terms, including its payment, cancellation and refund rules. AdventureMatch does not currently process bookings or traveller payments. We do not guarantee that an operator is available, suitable, licensed, insured or able to deliver a listed service. Inclusion does not constitute an endorsement.
4. Information and recommendations
Adventure descriptions, prices, availability, maps, coordinates, images and operator details may change or contain errors. Adventure DNA matches and other recommendations are informational tools, not professional or personalised safety advice. Confirm all material information directly with the operator before relying on it or making arrangements.
5. Adventure risk and your responsibilities
Adventure activities can involve injury, illness, death, isolation, extreme weather, transport disruption and limited emergency assistance. You are responsible for assessing suitability, fitness and experience; seeking medical advice where appropriate; checking equipment, qualifications and safety arrangements; obtaining suitable travel and activity insurance; complying with laws, visas and permits; monitoring official travel and weather advice; and preparing an emergency plan. In an emergency, contact the appropriate local emergency service.
6. Enquiries
When you send an enquiry, you instruct us to share the enquiry details with the operator you selected. Delivery confirmation means only that the message provider accepted the email; it does not mean the operator read or accepted it. The operator is responsible for its response.
7. User contributions
You may suggest adventures and upload descriptions, operator details and photographs. You retain ownership of your original content. You grant AdventureMatch a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, resize, edit for clarity or formatting, moderate and display that content for operating and promoting AdventureMatch. This licence continues for published catalogue content, but we will de-identify it when your account is deleted unless retention is legally required.
You confirm that your contribution is accurate to the best of your knowledge, does not infringe intellectual property, privacy or other rights, and that you own it or have permission to provide it. Do not submit unlawful, deceptive, unsafe, discriminatory, abusive, sexually explicit, malicious or confidential material. We may reject, edit, unpublish or remove content and restrict repeat or serious abuse.
8. Intellectual property
AdventureMatch’s software, branding and original editorial material belong to AdventureMatch or its licensors. Operator names and marks belong to their respective owners. You may not copy or exploit the service except as allowed by law or with written permission. Copyright and other rights concerns can be reported under our reporting process.
9. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the service, probe or bypass security, scrape at harmful volume, introduce malicious code, impersonate others, make knowingly false reports, harvest personal information, or use the service unlawfully. We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect users, operators, AdventureMatch or the public.
10. External services
Links and third-party services are provided for convenience. Their availability, content, security and privacy practices are outside our control. Review their terms and policies before using them.
11. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AdventureMatch is provided on an “as available” basis. We are not responsible for an operator’s acts or omissions, an adventure’s safety or suitability, booking disputes, travel disruption, or loss arising from reliance on third-party content. To the extent liability can lawfully be limited, AdventureMatch is not liable for indirect, consequential or special loss or lost profits. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable rights under New Zealand consumer and fair-trading law.
12. Account deletion and termination
You may delete your account in the app. Profile and saved-adventure data are deleted, enquiries are deleted, and published contributions may be retained in de-identified form for catalogue integrity. Limited records may remain temporarily in rotating backups or while required for security, disputes or legal obligations. We may terminate or restrict accounts that breach these Terms.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes require renewed in-app acceptance. The version and effective date appear above.
14. Governing law and contact
New Zealand law governs these Terms. New Zealand courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory law that applies where you live. Contact hello@adventurematch.app.
